The BWB Story

Boogie Woogie Babes is the brainchild of award winning photographer Jamie Gilmore.

According to Jamie, he fell in love with the early pin-up illustrations of Alberto Vargas and wanted to become an illustrator, but didn't have the talent for drawing, so he picked up a camera instead and the rest as they say is history.

“I was bitten by the retro bug. From cars to classic movies, the music and the fashion, it became an obsession to try and recapture that feel and that era.“

Growing up I developed a love of jazz and blues and early 1950’s Rock n Roll. I can’t explain it. It wasn’t something my parents were into. It just hit me like a lightning bolt and made me feel like I belonged there.

When it comes to photography, you get what you pay for…

Jamie’s commercial and editorial work has graced the pages of Vogue, Russh, GQ, Harpers Bazaar, Gourmet Traveller, Frankie, Australian Traveller, Mindfood, Delicious, Donna Hay, Inside Out, The Australian Womens Weekly, 4WD Touring Australia, The Guardian, StellarMag, The Herald Sun and The Australian Financial Review so you know you’ll get the highest standard creative concepts and photographic images when shooting with Jamie and his team.

”There’s a lot more to photography than just pointing a camera at someone and snapping an image of them. Photography is as much about the creative concept, locations and styling as it is about the actual shot taken at the end of that process. If you want images that standout from the thousands of plain shots circulating on social media every day, you need to invest a little more with a professional creator.”
